Pilot-study funding available
Pilot-study funding available for prostate cancer research
Funds are available from the PNW Prostate Cancer SPORE (Specialized Programs of Research Excellence) to support pilot projects on prostate cancer research.
Funding priority will be given to proposals for studies that are multidisciplinary, likely to lead to submission of grant applications for independently funded investigations, and have translational potential. Translational research is defined as research involving the flow of information from the clinic or clinical materials to the bench, or vice-versa (i.e., a probability of leading to new methods to prevent, diagnose, or treat prostate cancer). The highest priority for funding will be given to translational research projects demonstrating collaboration between clinicians and research scientists. Budgets are limited to $50,000 or less (direct costs). Young investigators and investigators new to the field of prostate cancer are encouraged to apply.
Those eligible to apply include all investigators at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, University of British Columbia, Oregon Health and Science University and others affiliated with the Program in Prostate Cancer Research (PPCR) or the PNW Prostate Cancer SPORE.
Application is limited to faculty who are eligible to apply for NIH R01 grants.
